Providing Veterinary Services to the Community Since 1895
About Us
Our Lyme Grove Surgery in Stockport has been the site of a dedicated Veterinary Practice since 1895, initially for large as well as small animals. It is the longest established Veterinary Practice in the Stockport area continuously caring for animals and has seen many changes in the medical and surgical techniques used to treat pets for more than a century! However, the Practice now concentrates solely on small (companion) animal veterinary services.
Bob Butler came to work as Assistant Veterinary Surgeon for the Practice in April 1971, and became a Partner to Sandy Anderson in 1973. He purchased the Practice from Sandy when he retired in 1984 and has been the Principal Veterinary Surgeon since then, now with two surgeries - Lyme Grove in Stockport and 179 Market Street in Hyde.
Bob Butler's Veterinary Surgeries offers modern equipment to aid prompt diagnoses and effective treatments for all your pets.
Because we are owner managed our Clients are more likely to see the same vet at each visit. Our whole team are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our Patients and Clients, always with a friendly and welcoming approach. All of our Clients receive the benefit of advice on any aspect of pet care, including preventative healthcare and dietary advice.
We have highly trained veterinary surgeons and nursing staff who are kept updated on the latest innovative treatments and medical techniques. We are committed to training our staff and ensuring that our qualified vets and nurses are kept up to date with the latest developments in pet care.
Our Practice is an accredited RCVS Practice. The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons is the regulatory body of the veterinary profession and carries out rigorous inspections on a regular basis to ensure that we are providing the highest quality of care throughout.
In order to encourage and assist the younger people of the community who wish to enter into the veterinary professions, we provide work experience at both surgeries for College and 6th Form students embarking on their chosen course of study, whether it be NVQ's in Veterinary Nursing or qualification as a Veterinary Surgeon, and we are proud to have Ann Mee now working with us as a Vet following her previous work experience with us when she was just 16 years old.
We encourage feedback from all of our Clients on their experiences of the treatment and services they recieve from our Practice and we welcome their suggestions on how we might continue to improve and develop in the future. You can email us via the Contact Form included on our ' Contact Us ' page on this website, as this is also YOUR Veterinary Practice and we value your involvement.
